T.J. Walsh was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He teaches theatre at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.  His production of Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses at Theatre Three in Dallas won a Dallas/Fort Worth Drama Critics Forum Award for Best Direction. His Theatre Three production of Neil Simon's Odd Couple was awarded a Best Ensemble Award from the Dallas/Fort Worth Drama Critics Forum.  He performed his solo play Pleading Infinity at the New York International Fringe Festival in the summer of 2006 to critical praise (www.pleadinginfinity.com).  He is the Artistic Director for the Trinity Shakespeare Festival in Fort Worth.  He has an MFA in playwriting and a Ph.D. in theatre history and criticism from the University of Texas at Austin where he studied with Oscar Brockett. His research interests are in the history and theory of authorship.
